We2gether Creating Change is dedicated to transforming Drew, MS from a place of perceived poverty and despair into a thriving community of opportunity and hope. Our mission is to inspire and empower Drew residents to build vibrant, healthy, and successful lives through community participation and support.
Our Programming
Mae Bertha Learning Center in Drew, MS
At the Mae Bertha Carter Learning Center, we come together to inspire participants to discover their purpose, set meaningful goals, and create clear strategies to achieve them. Through collaborative training rooted in our shared history, we empower each individual to realize their potential and take bold steps toward growth.
Transformative Wellness: Empowering Lives Through Mindfulness
Our practice of Primordial Sound Meditation aligns with our mission by promoting holistic well-being and empowering individuals to lead healthier, more balanced lives. By reducing stress and anxiety, we help foster personal transformation, creating the foundation for stronger, more resilient communities—central to our goal of uplifting and empowering those we serve.
Emmett Till Academy
The Emmett Till Academy empowers youth in Sunflower and Tallahatchie counties through a weekly program that educates students about the civil rights movement and contemporary racial justice in the Mississippi Delta and the U.S. through engaging activities, field trips, and service learning.
Racial Healing & Equity
We believe that racial healing and equity are essential to our mission of transforming low-income communities from places of poverty and despair into thriving hubs of prosperity, skills, and hope. To inspire individuals to build vibrant, healthy lives and communities, and ensure everyone can be happy, whole, and healthy, we must work to dismantle the racial inequities that limit opportunities and hold some families back.
Food Justice
We recognize that food security and food justice are essential to ensuring a bright future for the Mississippi Delta. That’s why we host a food pantry to provide healthy food, free of charge, to local residents. In 2021, we expanded our impact by launching GOODS (Grocery Online Ordering Distribution Service), a full-service food delivery company.
Drew Collaborative
We value partnerships, and in that spirit, a group of community leaders in Drew, known as the Drew Collaborative, led by We2gether Creating Change (We2gether), began meeting to create a community-wide strategic plan. This plan outlines a vision for Drew’s future, identifies key community needs and challenges, and prioritizes programs and projects that will drive growth and improve health in the community.
